Crosslin Supply Co., now known as Pro-Build, Provides Suppliers With Service and Support

Henry G. Davis (left) and his son, Greg, run Crosslin Supply Co. Inc. with other family members. The company was bought by Pro-Build Systems Inc. in 2007.
Since it first opened in tiny Eagleville nearly 75 years ago‚ Crosslin Supply Co. Inc. has grown into one of the state’s largest hardware and building material centers.
As of June 1‚ 2007‚ the company has expanded its presence even more. With a new name – Pro-Build Systems Inc. – Crosslin Supply is now part of a larger‚ Denver-based building materials firm with 17‚000 employees and connections from coast to coast.
“Most of our customers are people we have been supplying for quite some time‚” says Greg Davis‚ whose grandparents founded Crosslin Supply in 1933 and who now serves as general manager of Pro-Build. “We have a lot of repeat sales.”
Frank and Mary Esther Crosslin first opened Crosslin Supply Co. in a small wooden building on Eagleville’s Main Street in Rutherford County in 1933.
The family-owned company has grown steadily since. It expanded in 1959 to a location in Smyrna‚ which is managed by Eddie Crosslin‚ and it started doing business in Williamson County with the opening of a Franklin location in 1973. Crosslin Supply moved into Maury County in 1997‚ when it opened a center in Spring Hill.
“We provide lumber‚ plywood‚ windows‚ doors and roofing for homes and light commercial buildings‚” Davis explains. “And the majority of what we provide folks we deliver on our fleet of trucks.”
The success and growth of Crosslin Supply Co. are due not only to its inventory of building supplies‚ but also to its quality of service. The company takes a personal interest in its customers.
“We try to listen intently to what people are trying to accomplish and find solutions for them to achieve their goals‚” says Davis‚ who is very active in the community and served as chairman of the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce in 2006. “In fact‚ that’s why Pro-Build was attracted to us. Our commitment to customers hasn’t changed.”
Henry G. Davis‚ Greg’s father‚ served as vice president of Crosslin Supply and also was chairman of the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber in 1981.
John Maher‚ owner of John Maher Builders in Williamson County‚ can attest to Pro-Build’s customer service. He has been in business since 1985‚ and he says he owes much of his success to Pro-Build.
“The vast majority of every home package we’ve purchased has come through Crosslin [Pro-Build]‚” says Maher‚ whose company has built some 1‚500 homes in the Spring Hill area since the 1990s and did $45 million in business in 2006. “They’ve been a terrific partner over the years. I’ve been impressed with their knowledge of the business‚ their service and the consistency of that service.”
